Project NET Brasil (“we” or “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of our users. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, https://www.NETBrasil.org, including any other media form, media channel, mobile website, or mobile application related or connected thereto (collectively, the “Site”) if applicable. Please read this privacy policy carefully.  If you do not agree with the terms of this document, please do not access the Site.

We reserve the right to make changes to this privacy policy at any time and for any reason.  We will alert you about any changes to this document by updating the “Last updated” date of this privacy policy, but also by announcing the change in our Site.  Any changes or modifications will be effective immediately upon posting the updated privacy policy on the Site, and you waive the right to receive specific notice of each such change or modification.

We may collect information about you in a variety of ways on the Site.

Personally identifiable information, such as your name, work and e-mail addresses, and telephone number, and demographic information, such as your age, gender, hometown, and interests, that you voluntarily give to us when you voluntarily contact us within the Site. However, you are under no obligation to provide us with personal information of any kind, and you may use the Site without entering your personal data.

Information our servers automatically collect when you access the Site, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser type, your operating system, your access time, and the pages you have viewed directly before and after accessing the Site. We do not collect any financial information when you visit the Site. We offer to you the option to make voluntary donations to support our project. Donations are requested to be done as money transfers directly from your credit institution to vivo international e.V., one of our funding partners. You are encouraged to review their privacy policies and contact them directly for responses to any of your questions regarding your financial data.

use of your information.

Having accurate information about you permits us to improve your experience when using the Site. We may use information collected about you via the Site to:

  • Compile anonymous statistical data and analysis for use internally

  • Increase the content and resources provided in the Site

  • E-mail you regarding your contact request

  • Send you a newsletter

For technical reasons, Squarespace, our Site host provider, needs derivative data to run this Site, and to protect and improve its platform and services. Squarespace analyses the data in a de-personalized form to understand and improve site activity and traffic.

As a non-profit, we do not share your information for commercial reasons or for personal benefit. However, we may share information we have collected about you in certain situations. Your information may be disclosed as follows:

This Site uses font files from Google Fonts and Adobe Fonts. To properly display this Site to you, servers where the font files are stored may receive personal information about you, including:

If NET Brasil is transferred as a project to another institution or larger project, we may transfer your information to the successor entity. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that the transferee may decline honor commitments we made in this privacy policy.

We are not responsible for the actions of third parties, if applicable, with whom you share personal or sensitive data, and we have no authority to manage or control third-party solicitations.  If you no longer wish to receive correspondence, e-mails or other communications from third parties, you are responsible for contacting the third party directly.

If NET Brasil is discontinued or comes to an end, we will promptly destroy any personal information collected about you.

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information.  While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.  Any information disclosed online is vulnerable to interception and misuse by unauthorized parties. Therefore, we cannot guarantee complete security if you provide personal information.

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies, which are small files or pieces of text that are downloaded to your device when you access the Site. When you access the Site, your personal information is not collected through the use of tracking technology. Most browsers are set to accept cookies by default. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online.  If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Policy.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and applications of interest, including external services, that are not affiliated with us. Once you have used these links to leave the Site, any information you provide to these third parties is not covered by this privacy policy, and we cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of your information.
